IHSA Approved Working at Heights Training

Infrastructure Health and Safety Association is an affiliated Ministry of Labour training centre.  The IHSA Working at Heights program is a comprehensive and interesting program that introduces information new to most participants.  As a certified IHSA public training partner I’m committed to providing effective training to help reduce workplace injuries.  The goal is to make sure each participant has a good understanding of what is required to work safely at heights and go home to their family at the end of every work day.

Classes will start in the morning at whatever time has been agreed to. Please show up on time. If you arrive for class late you will have missed a portion of instruction that might be difficult for you to catch up.

Refresher training class time is approximately 4-1/2 hours and full training is approximately 7-1/2 hours including two breaks and lunch. Returning to class at the required times is essential to avoid time issues at the end of the day. You can also bring your snacks with you. Bottled water and cookies/Werthers are supplied for the course.

Upon successful completion of the course I will issue your WAH certification card that day. Please keep this card with you at all times – it is your proof of training. Ministry of Labour is no longer sending out cards for this program. This can be used as your permanent card which is valid for three years from date of training. Take a picture of your card once you receive it. A picture will be considered proof of training in the event that you lose your card. You will also be given a skills pass information sheet. I will be sending your information in to MOL and they will email you once they’ve reviewed your information. The email will contain a link for you to click on to set up an account. Once you’ve set up an MOL account you will be able to print your Ministry of Labour ticket.

If you require an alternative evaluation method to the written test please speak with me either prior to the course or at first break. Verbal accommodation will be provided for participants who prefer this method of training. This will ensure a good  understanding of each question for a positive evaluation.

Classes are kept informal and questions/comments are encouraged. Combined with some laughter and fun this creates a positive, relaxed learning environment to promote an easier, long-term understanding of the Working at Heights Program
